Ready to Walk the Talk? Trail-Based Training Comes to Laurelville This Fall
This year’s Fall Confluence isn’t your typical workshop—and that’s the point. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, H2O Water Network invites you to ditch the PowerPoint and step into the woods for a trail-based training experience like no other. Taking place on the stunning grounds of the Laurelville Retreat Center, this immersive day-long event offers an unforgettable chance to connect, learn, and explore where it matters most: on the land that shapes our water.
The Fall 2025 Confluence: Saturday, September 27th from 10 AM to 4 PM at Laurelville Retreat Center in Westmoreland County.
The format is hands-on by design. You’ll walk trails guided by naturalists, conservation educators, and science communicators who will help you see every plant, insect, bird, and stream with new eyes. Along the way, you’ll learn about the ecosystems that support watershed health—and how their degradation can ripple down to drinking water quality, flooding patterns, and biodiversity loss. This is more than a field trip—it’s a training ground for the kind of informed, connected water advocacy our region needs.
Participants will also be introduced to tools like iNaturalist, a crowd-sourced biodiversity app that helps users document and identify species. This app isn’t just for techies—it’s a gateway to deeper observation and data-sharing for anyone curious about what lives in our forests and streams. You’ll walk away knowing how to use it to support community science efforts right where you live.
