Join us for the Fall 2025 Confluence at the Mennonite Retreat in Laurelville, Pennsylvania (Westmoreland County) – a unique opportunity to connect with fellow water stewards while learning hands-on skills to protect our local watersheds.
Protecting Land for Water Quality
This isn’t your typical conference. We’re taking learning outdoors with field work that puts you directly on the trails of the Retreat. You’ll discover how to use iNaturalist, a powerful citizen science app, to document the flora and fauna that make our watersheds tick. Together, we’ll begin building a comprehensive picture of ecosystem health and explore practical ways to safeguard our water resources.
Here’s what many people don’t realize: nonpoint source pollution – that’s polluted runoff from roads, farms, and developed areas – is the leading threat to water quality across the United States. Effective watershed protection goes far beyond collecting water samples. Understanding how plants, animals, and their habitats work together as an interconnected system is essential for ensuring the clean water our communities depend on.
Get Involved
Consider setting up a table at our “Boatload of Knowledge” showcase – it’s a perfect chance to highlight your organization’s work and connect with like-minded advocates.
We’re living through a critical moment when our water, land, and air face unprecedented challenges. The Fall 2025 Confluence will equip you with practical tools to engage others in watershed protection, whether you’re educating neighbors, students, or community leaders.
Stay tuned for more details as we continue developing this day of connection, sharing, and hands-on learning.
