Next Friday, the Upper Ohio River Basin water community comes together — and you’re going to want to be in the room.
From Ripples to Currents: Connect, Share, Act for Clean Water is happening on Friday, March 27, 2026, and it’s the kind of event that reminds you why this work matters. Whether you represent a watershed organization, a conservation district, a utility, or you’re just someone who cares deeply about the water in your backyard — this is your event.
Space is limited, so if you haven’t locked in your spot yet, do it now.

A Boatload of Knowledge — Literally
One of the most exciting features of the day is what we’re calling the Boatload of Knowledge — dedicated time to connect one-on-one with some of the most valuable support organizations in the regional water world. These aren’t just exhibitors at a table. These are the people who can help your organization get funded, get legal, get technical, and get moving.
Here’s who will be in the room:
C-SAW (Consortium for Scientific Assistance to Watersheds) brings hands-on skills and tools to help eligible groups and individuals evaluate, protect, monitor, and restore their watersheds. If you’ve been wanting to level up your monitoring program or just figure out where to start — talk to C-SAW.
POWR (Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers) provides statewide technical assistance to watershed groups. From mini-grants to insurance to event planning support, POWR is one of the most practical resources available to Pennsylvania CWOs.
West Virginia Water Institute brings expertise in water collection, analysis, and monitoring — critical capacity for groups working along the border region or dealing with complex water quality questions.
Mountain Watershed Association brings real-world experience across conservation, recreation, education, and advocacy. They’ve been doing this work on the ground for decades, and there’s a lot to learn from them.
Fair Shakes Environmental Legal Services offers environmental legal services to communities and organizations navigating the sometimes maddening intersection of water, land, and the law. If your group has ever needed legal guidance and didn’t know where to turn, this is who you talk to.
Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds is a grantmaking foundation dedicated specifically to the conservation and protection of Pennsylvania’s water resources. If your organization has a project that needs funding, you want to introduce yourself here.
Why This Moment Matters
The 2024 H2O Watershed and Water Stewards Capacity and Needs Assessment made one thing crystal clear: the organizations doing the hardest work on our waterways are often the ones with the fewest resources — stretched thin on staff, volunteers, funding, and technical know-how. Events like From Ripples to Currents exist to change that equation.
One conversation at the Boatload of Knowledge could connect your group to a grant you didn’t know existed, a legal resource that removes a roadblock, or a monitoring partner that doubles your capacity. That’s not hype — that’s what happens when the right people are in the same room.
The work starts upstream. It starts in the hollows and the headwaters, with small groups of committed people who show up year after year. But the ripples they create? Those reach all the way to the Ohio.
Come be part of that on March 27.
