 Dear AmeriCorps Friends and Partners:

PMSC AmeriCorps is happy to announce that it is application time again! As we enter our 29th year of service in Southwestern/Southcentral PA, a big THANK YOU goes out to all of you who have helped to make our program a success. We look forward to collaborating with you for many years to come, and we are inviting new sites to apply and become part of our team.

PMSC will focus efforts in academic engagement, community wellness and environmental stewardship during the 2023-24 program year. Applications to host a member at your site must be submitted between April 14, 2023 and May 22, 2023 at 4PM. The application packet, along with additional information & examples, can be obtained in one of two ways:
-Visit the PMSC web site at https://www.pmsc.org/apply-to-be-a-host-site/ for a fillable PDF that may be submitted on-line.
OR
-Visit the PMSC website at www.pmsc.org to download a writable PDF and submit it to the PMSC AmeriCorps office via email: AmeriCorps@iu08.org , fax: 814-472-5033, or USPS mail to 119 Park Street Ebensburg, PA 15931.
Here are some key points to consider prior to applying:
·         Based upon what we believe will be the grant award amount for the 2023-2024 program, the cash match for a 1700-hour position will be $11,155.19 per member. The cash match for a 1200-hour position will be $8,934.71 per member. All position awards are contingent on grant funding.
·         PMSC will notify you of your award status in early June.
·         The cash match should come from nonfederal sources. The only exceptions are for federal departments that have a standing order allowing their funding to be used as AmeriCorps match (this now includes COVID -19 pandemic relief funds). The list of those standing orders may be found at: https://www.pmsc.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Federal-Match-Allowances_updated-2022.pdf
·         Members will receive a living stipend every two weeks throughout their term of service, healthcare insurance if needed at no charge, an income eligible childcare stipend if qualified, and a monetary education award upon successful completion of service.

Application selection is based on several factors including internal strategies for diversity of        geographical representation, critical and unmet need, and how the position aligns with the   PMSC/AmeriCorps objectives and focus areas. All of these points will be considered when your application is reviewed. However, the competition for positions is keen as more organizations compete for very limited funding. Therefore, simply covering all the points and prior participation does not necessarily guarantee a position.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
 Respectfully, Jill Latuch
