The Spring Water Policy Forum is returning for its second annual event, and this year, it’s tackling some of the most pressing challenges water systems are facing in the Northeast MegaRegion. The event, titled “Navigating Turbulent Waters: Managing the Compounding Water System Challenges Facing Local Leaders in the Northeast MegaRegion,” will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Golkin Hall, located in the Fitts Auditorium, 3501 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA.
This year’s forum will bring together a diverse group of experts, policymakers, and practitioners from across the region to discuss complex and overlapping challenges that our water systems face. Key topics include climate change, emerging contaminants, affordability, and shifting state and federal policies. Leaders in the Northeast MegaRegion, which includes the Hudson, Delaware, and Chesapeake Watersheds, are working against significant hurdles as they strive to manage and improve the region’s water systems.
While facing challenges like aging infrastructure, affordability, and the evolving impact of climate change, local leaders must keep moving forward, finding opportunities amidst strong headwinds. This forum is the perfect chance for professionals to gather, share insights, and strategize on how to tackle these critical water-related issues.
In addition to the formal program, there will be a networking lunch, where participants can connect with key industry leaders, experts, and advocates from across the water sector. This lunch will provide an opportunity to share ideas, explore potential collaborations, and discuss strategies for overcoming the most urgent challenges facing water systems in the region. Attendees can expect to engage in meaningful conversations with individuals from private industry, public utilities, and advocacy organizations.
Registration for the event closes on Sunday, March 30th, and is free for students. We encourage everyone who is passionate about water policy and advocacy to attend and contribute to the conversation.
