Washington County is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP), and county officials want to hear from residents. The HMP is a long-term planning document that helps protect communities by identifying natural and human-caused hazards and developing strategies to reduce their impact on public health, safety, and property.
Community input is a key part of this process. Residents are invited to an upcoming public meeting to share their perspective, identify risks or concerns that should be addressed, and help shape the County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan update for 2027.

You can still make your voice heard by completing the County’s hazard mitigation survey by July 28. Your feedback will help identify the hazards and risks that matter most to the community.
