The Ohio Department of Natural Resources announced $87,000 in H2Ohio Rivers Program grants on July 30 to twelve canoe liveries and river groups across the state, up to $10,000 each. The funding covers cleanup supplies, special waste disposal events, and promotion of river stewardship efforts.
Cleanups supported by the program have pulled roughly 20,000 pounds of trash from Ohio waterways so far in 2026. Governor Mike DeWine noted that canoe liveries are uniquely equipped to partner on H2Ohio’s mission to keep rivers clean.
