The Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds is accepting applications for its fall 2026 Conservation Grants, which average $20,000 and fund on-the-ground restoration and water quality improvement projects by nonprofit organizations and conservation districts. Typically 15 to 30 grants are awarded per cycle, and applicants need to show match funding.
Of special note for our region, the Raccoon Creek Benefit Fund has $475,000 available for projects in and around the Raccoon Creek watershed in southwestern Pennsylvania, with awards anticipated in the $5,000 to $50,000 range. Small Convening Grants of up to $2,000, meant to foster collaboration and planning between groups, are also available on a rolling basis with monthly reviews.
Key deadlines: Letters of Intent are due Friday, September 18, 2026. Full proposals are due Friday, October 16, 2026, with board decisions expected in mid-December. Applications go through the foundation’s grants portal at apply.fpwgrants.org.
